Sunday School Valentine Card Making

On Sunday, February 7 at 9:15 am (right after the Sunday school opening), the Sunday school classes will be hosting their annual Valentine Making Event in the Fellowship Hall.

We would like to invite the entire congregation to come and join us in having a great time designing and crafting Valentine cards. We will have a variety of materials available for Valentine construction. You only need to bring your creativity and imagination.

We will be distributing the cards during church on Sunday, February 14 and mailing cards to those who are unable to join us in person.

As always these days, we will be distancing, grouping by families, wearing face coverings and have plenty of hand sanitizer available.

St. Paul Trivia Contest

As we celebrate our 100-year anniversary, we would like to put all of you to the challenge.  Each month we will put a question in the Pilot, bulletin, and on the Fellowship Table.  If you know the answer, write it down and put it in the box that will be provided.  The answers need to be in by the 15th of each month.  We will draw one or two winners each month from the correct answers and present them with a special gift.  The questions will relate to the church in some way:  congregation, history, Sunday school students, items in and around the church, etc.  We look forward to testing your knowledge of St. Paul.

February Question:

How many crosses are visible outside on the church property?

St. Paul 100 Year Anniversary Cookbook

Even though many people look to Pinterest, Google and other online resources to get recipes, you must admit that “Church Cookbooks” have some of the best recipes that you can rely on and enjoy, made by people you know and spend time with. Many traditions and memories are surrounded by food – a cookbook is a great way to preserve those memories. Let’s create a cookbook containing recipes submitted by congregation members! It’s been 20 years since St. Paul created a cookbook. And, with St. Paul’s 100th birthday this year, what better way to celebrate, getting members to participate and have a great fundraiser for the church? The cookbooks can be used and cherished by members for a lifetime.

A recipe card is in the bulletin and included in the Pilot. Please write down a recipe and return to the recipe box on the table in the fellowship hall. There are blank recipe cards – please take as many as you would like to complete. Or, you can drop off an original recipe – just put your name on it, we will make a copy and return the original to you. You may also type the recipe and email to a committee member. We want you to share as many recipes as you are willing. We will be collecting recipes for at least two months.

We are also looking for St. Paul Lutheran church history, fun church facts, church or bible trivia, and bible verses to use on filler pages. Please write down any information and leave at the recipe box.

We will keep you updated with the progress of the project, our fundraising goals, and a pre-order form for the book once the book has been finalized. Any questions can be directed to Tracey Russmann, Lori Clark or Stacy Pippitt.
