Missions to India

God cares deeply for widows and orphans and God commands us to protect and to care for them (Deuteronomy 10:18, Psalm 82:3, Isaiah 1:17, Hosea 14:3, James 1:27). Working in partnership with Gospel to the Ends of the Earth, Saint Paul Lutheran gives to support two ministries in India – a children’s home for orphans and a vocational educational program for women and widows.

Offerings to India help support the Malakapalli Children’s Home. This home provides shelter, food, and schooling to high school youth who are orphaned, who have one parent, or whose parents cannot support them. After schooling, the Children’s Home provides them with vocational training.

Offerings to India also support the UCM Grace Sewing Institute. This ministry provides women and widows with six months of sewing classes. Graduates of the program are provided sewing machines. This empowers the women with a vocation so they are able to support themselves and their families.
